Frequently Asked Questions

Why Is the  All Saints Foundation So Important Today?

Since the creation of what has become the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco just over one hundred years ago, we have grown to more than seventy Parishes and Monasteries in seven western states with more than 150,000 parishioners with whom we come together to practice our Orthodox faith as well as to celebrate our Greek culture and heritage.

  • In just the past 20 years, the Metropolis has nearly doubled its Ministries - bringing the total to 13 extraordinary ministries which actively involve thousands of parishioners, all of which collectively embrace a spiritual purpose of deepening our Orthodox faith, both in our individual hearts and souls as well as in the world in which we live.

  • The Metropolis and the Foundation share the belief and vision that the flourishing of both these existing Ministries as well as those which will be formed in our future will collectively light the path which will enable us as well as those in future generations to all live our lives in the fullest measure of our Orthodox teachings and faith.

What are the Foundation's Financial Projections and Goals?

The initial and most critical goal is to secure five-year commitments from a small group of leadership stewards to fund the All Saints Foundation endowment to a total of at least $5,000,000 on or before 12/31/30

  • Once achieved, the Foundation will then continue its efforts with broader outreach to parishioners and other prospective donors with the objective of further building the Foundation's corpus to at least $10,000,000 by 12/ 31/35. This will include one-time and multi-year major gifts as well as legacy gifts through estate planning.

  • Enabling the Foundation to tangibly support the work of the Metropolis with potential annual distributions reaching $250,000 or more by 12/31/30, and $500,000 or more by 12/31/35 – and further growing thereafter while maintaining the corpus of its endowment at a level of at least $10,000,000.

  • This funding structure will allow for the All Saints Foundation to have a material impact on the ministries and special initiatives of the Metropolis that benefit our parishes, clergy, faithful, and the communities in which we live and worship.

How Does the Mission of the All Saints Foundation Differ From Those of Faith Forward and the Metropolis Gala?

The All Saints Foundation serves as a lasting source of strength and vision for the Metropolis, providing the financial stability needed to launch new initiatives and sustain long-term ministry growth through major donations that create enduring resources to advance the Church’s mission.

  • Faith Forward is the annual stewardship campaign of the Metropolis that supports the ongoing ministries and daily operations which sustain the life of our Church today.

  • The Metropolis Gala celebrates and expands our ongoing ministries through broad community engagement.

  • Together, these three efforts work in harmony: Faith Forward sustains today’s work, the Metropolis Gala inspires collective action, and the All Saints Foundation secures tomorrow’s vision. and ensures that future ministries have both the means and momentum to flourish.
